The depths of love Thou hast for me
By grace bestowed so rich and free
This mortal soul can fathom naught
Nor e’en pretend its mercy brought.

Cannot henceforth exhausted be
E’en whilst in pain I clearly see
His love it is that holdeth me.

My refuge and my strength shall be
Into the cleft of rock I flee
Blessed that His hand doth cover me.
