It's Christmas Time
The holly and the ivy . . .
I'll be home for Christmas . . .
Walking in a winter wonderland . . .
This is our home, our neighborhood, our ivy bush out front.
This was the scene we awoke to on December 1, and a scene we enjoyed due to days of below freezing temperatures.
With a roaring fire in the fireplace, we cozied in for several days, not one bit sorry we couldn't go anywhere. The only downside to it was that . . . Christmas was still more than three weeks away.
Now Christmas is only five days away. At work today I noticed a definite change in the demeanor and attitude of many of the customers -- agitated, grumpy, demanding, "what do you mean you can't get it done before Christmas?" I found myself challenged to be nice, not returning evil for evil, Scrooge for Scrooge, Bah Hum Bug for Bah Hum Bug!
Or how about . . . Hark, the herald angels sing joy to the world on a silent night, a midnight clear . . . away in a manger, what Child is this? Go tell it on the mountain, not only that Jesus Christ is born, but that He IS Emanuel, God with us. He is our Saviour, our King, our Redeemer.
Merry Christmas to all of you.
