Kijabe and Back and Then to Mali

After venturing to Kijabe, Kenya, East Africa with my husband in 2006, I embarked on an even greater adventure in 2007. I took two mission trips to a remote village in Mali, West Africa in both July and September with some women from church. Here's a bit of my story.

More Various and Sundry

On the road to Kijabe, there's a very very narrow tunnel, so narrow that Gene and I, without really stretching our arms all the way, could touch the sides. RVA has to purchase school buses narrow enough to make it through.

View of Mt. Longonot (though hazy) in the background, and the Great Rift Valley below. The Rift Valley starts in Israel and extends all the way through Africa.

Vendors on the lawn at RVA, selling their wares every Saturday morning -- muffins, sumosas, carvings, veggies and fruit of all kinds

Africa Inland Church in Kijabe where we usually attend on Sunday morning

Graduation tradition at RVA: receive your diploma in bare feet. No one we asked knows when or why it got started.

Aloha from the land of the Big Red Pig!!! Thinking about you and praying for you as you come to the end of your time there. Please be careful while traveling, and stay in a group. These terrorist animals are everywhere, and Kenya is a hot spot.

Speaking of hot you are missing the heat wave here! Its been miserable hot.

You have become a great blogger I hope that you continue once you return to the US
